San Francisco Earthquake 1906

My name is Leana Delatorre and and I work for The New York Times. I'm reporting on the earthquake that happened in San Francisco in 1906. It was a major earthquake that caused a lot of mess in that area. It happened on April 18, 1906 at 5:12 am on Wednesday. It was one of the largest earthquakes, it was 7.8 magnitude. It is remembered as one of the worst natural disasters in history in the United States. The estimated number of people that died was 3,000 or more. It lasted up 45 to 60 seconds the earthquake was felt all the way to Southern Oregon to the south of Los Angeles and inland all the way to Central Nevada. This disaster caused 227,000 to 300,000 people to be homeless that's half of the population in the city. This disaster had a bad effect on many people of San Francisco.

Graduate

Hey i just want to say congrats to all the girls who are graduating today and that were proud of them for coming this far and making it with kids, and not letting a child get in the way of there future and dreams i cant wait for that day i get my diploma its a feeling that you cant describe and when that day comes I'm going to be so happy words cant explain. I would feel like i succeeded in life and made it, my main motivation for finishing high school and going to collage is my beautiful daughter Monique because she deserves the best in life and without an education you wont be nothing in life and i want to set that example for her so she knows that mommy made it and so can she i want my daughter to be proud of me i want to show her that everything that her mommy went threw she still made it and to just show her that I'm strong and i will be something in life i cant wait to see my families faces when I'm up there getting my diploma i cant wait to see my moms face because i know shell be so proud of me after all i put her threw she deserves to see me graduate. i want to be that example to my brothers and sisters ill be the first to graduate in my family and that means so much because i wont be the last im going to set the example that yea we can do it. I'm counting down the days to my graduation.

1) Who was your favorite character and why? Which character did you dislike most throughout the story and why? My favorite character is Hassan because he is really brave and he isnt afraid to do anything and i admire him for that. And my least favorite character is Asef because he raped Hassan and hes a bully towards everyone younger than him.

2)Which is your most favorite scene in the book? In the movie? My favorite scene is when Amir fights Asef at the end of the movie because that shows that hes really brave and i think Asef gets what he deserves.

3)Which did you enjoy better, the novel or the movie? Please give specific reasons why.
I always like the book more because in the movie they cut out alot of scenes and in the book its more detail and it makes you picture whats really happening.
